Keep them well behind you, and use them as back-ups only if you run into too many guards. Keep to the edges of the road, and on the back alleys, and you'll be much safer. Keep an eye on the guards though when you first spot them, they have pre-set patrolling patterns and will leave you alone if they don't spot you. You can also run for it, since your horse hero is faster than the foot soldiers. You must be careful not to upset the townsfolk, who will yelp for the guards, and if you do encounter guards, try to kill them off as fast as possible before reinforcements arrive. You must rescue all twenty, and they are scattered throughout a heavily populated town. You are using Prince Arthas to sneak around town and "liberate" your Undead acolytes.
Except you're not really blowing stuff up here.
